24/4/12
In the few days following the World Cup race in Belgium, I managed to contract a nasty virus. So the 2 days intended recovery turned into 5 or 6. Sometimes a bit of forced recovery is not always such a bad thing though and I think I the short break was needed both physically and mentally. The upside has been that I’ve spent some quality time with my sister and her family in Kassel, Germany. My 2 young nieces are certainly very cute and it will be hard to say goodbye once again this coming Thursday!
I was able to taste test the coffee in and around Kassel during this last week and have come to the conclusion that we are very spoilt with the coffee Melbourne has to offer! These last few days, I have been able to put in a couple of good quality training sessions and I’m pleased that the legs have responded well and have finally come good. The race schedule has been changed a little in order to fit in an extra one in Switzerland due to the one I missed last weekend. So, this Sunday is a big German event called “Bike The Rock” in Heubach Germany, then Saturday 5th is the” BMC Racing Cup” in Solothurn Switzerland, and then on to World Cups 3 and 4 in the Czech Republic and France on 13th and 20th May.
Stay tuned for more MTB adventures….

Good luck with your world cup races.
Ellie is off to Canberra on the 5th of next month for the weekend to train at the AIS with the U19 long term team.
She is pumped.
