11/5/13
I am typing this whilst on board a flight headed to Alice Springs. I chose the Ingerreke MTB Stage race as my last event for the Summer Season. Perhaps just hoping to extend that sunshine out a little bit more before the reality of Melbourne winter hits! While I’m sure the racing will be fast and furious, with many top riders making the trip up North, I’m sure the week will entail a little down time and quite a few laughsJ
These last couple of weeks, I have managed to squeeze in the Golden Triangle marathon race in Bendigo and the Forest 6hr enduro. Both were super fun events for different reasons. You will be able to read a more in depth race report on the Golden Triangle in the next Enduro mag and on the Forest 6hr in the upcoming issue of AMB. Despite quite fatigued legs, due to an epic day in Atherton, I managed to take the win in the marathon race and Mel Anset and I teamed up to finish 2nd in the Forest 6hr.
It has been a few years since riding in Alice and I’m very much looking forward to checking out the expanding network of trails. I also seem to remember quite a few sandy patches so am keeping off the usual carb loading in hope that I might not sink too much!

Pit lane at the Forrest 6hr; Pedallab rider Nick Morgan and teammate Warrack took out the men’s pairs; the Forrest 6hr begins on foot….not such a pretty sight!

Happy to finish in front at the Golden Triangle Marathon
